Once a man died and went to the gate of heaven and was waiting for the long time. He got impatient and stopped the angel who was passing by and yelled at that angel. I was busy man on earth having no time to wait, now you make me to wait for a long time, what is this? The angel apologized for the late and told it is because St. Peter is on sick leave so Jesus himself will come and attend him to see whether his name is in the Book of Life. So the man was happy that he is going to be welcomed by Jesus himself. When Jesus came he looked at the person, formally greeted him and started searching his name in the Book of Life... the time passed by, again the man became impatient, but Jesus could not find his name. Jesus asked him to tell about him so that it will help him to find his name quick. He said about himself that he was born catholic, he was young business man he was working hard going around for his business. He built many houses, traveled a lot, met many friends visited many countries.... Jesus asked him, 'did you ever spend some time on prayer' he replied, 'ah.. you see Jesus, i had NO TIME even to care my family then how can you expect to waste my time on prayer, going to church, I had NO TIME for those things.... you know I have worked a lot.... Jesus interrupted, 'stop stop stop... ... so you are the one. now i remember, few times i wanted to write your name in the Book of Life, but unfortunately there was some work at that time so I could not write your name... so my friend I had NO TIME FOR YOU!
This is just a small story but it speaks volumes of truth. We have time to go around and meet friends, time to eat, time to play, time to shop, time to build, time to study, time to do our job... we have time for everything except for GOD. We may argue that God cannot say like that, or may not say like that.. etc... but the Bible very clearly says, 'the measure you give the measure you get.' The time we spend on prayer and God is always an investment, so please don't hesitate to pray.
Man invented a lot of things to save time, so many electronic stuffs, wireless phones, computer, mouse, keyboards, fireless and smokeless kitchen, painless operation and medication, but can't create a sinless but end up in GODLESS. With all these stuffs which created to save time, still could not give us a free time to rest, because the unsatisfied human beings always strive for next... If we have a motorcycle we look for a small car, when we have a car, look for a bigger car, then two car, then helicopter... then the list goes on... Unless we learn to be satisfied with what we have, we will be running busy to earn more and to acquire more.
Once there was interview with God, and the end of the interview, the one who interviews God asked, is there anything you want to tell the people whom you created and love. God smiled and said, 'nothing in particular, I have said enough, let those who have ear, let them hear. But one thing makes me laugh. They toil night and day even without caring for their food and health and earn more money, and they spend all those money in regaining their health?? :(
"Be alert and watch, for YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN THE TIME will come." (Mark 13:33)
TIME IS PRECIOUS, BUT SPEND SOME TIME FOR YOU, FOR YOUR FAMILY FOR YOUR GOD, AND THEY TOO WILL HAVE MORE TIME TO SPEND THEIR TIME WITH YOU.
