PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD!

WISH YOU ALL A FRUITFUL AND BLESSED ADVENT SEASON GREETINGS.  MAY THE CHILD JESUS BE BORN IN OUR HEARTS AND IN OUR HOME. GOD BLESS

'SAY A WORD': THE CONFESSION OF FAITH BY THE CENTURION ON THE THE POWER OF THE WORDS OF JESUS.

The Gospel Reading of Monday of the First week of Advent speaks about the centurion whose faith was very much applauded by Jesus himself.  Though I have read this several times and heard in the Mass several times but as I listened on this day November 29, 2010, it gave me a different meaning.  And I started to reflect.  The centurion is not a Jew, He is Roman citizen. When he asked for help to cure his servant Jesus says that he will come in person and heal him.  Let us remember when the Canaanite women came pleading Jesus to cure her daughter Jesus says, “It is not right to take the bread from the children and throw it to the little dogs.” (Mt. 15:26) and refuses to help her telling that He came only to the people of Israel.  But, here, in this centurion’s case Jesus says that he himself will come and cure him.

The centurion though he has himself honored enough to welcome Jesus into his house he replied that he was not worthy to receive him under his roof then he goes on to explain about his authority and asks Jesus just to command, to say a word – which became the beautiful prayer that we recite in the Holy Mass every time.  Here I was struck with the words of centurion… why should he tell about his authority?  Was he boastful about his authority over his slaves? No, he just mentions to Jesus that if I, an ordinary man has such power for my words, how powerful the Words of Jesus.  That’s what he reminds to Jesus, that he is the Word Incarnate, the Word of the Father.  If an ordinary man speaks no one listens or obeys. But if a person in authoritative position commands even without his presence people obey.  Just the word of the commander in chief makes the soldier to obey even the commander is not present.  So, how much more Powerful would be the words of Jesus who is the King of the all universe.  Here, the Roman centurion teach me how powerful the Word of God, the Words of Jesus.  So, let us not disregard, or be careless regarding the promises of the Lord, or the Word of God.  Let us read the Bible every day and give a chance to Jesus to speak with us.  And let us pray with the centurion, “LORD I AM NOT WORTHY TO RECEIVE YOU (IN MY HEART) BUT ONLY SAY THE WORD AND I SHALL BE HEALED.” (Mt. 8:8)

DO IT ANYWAY

One of my friends was asked to prepare a power point presentation for a leadership programme.  Though it was asked at the last moment, still he tried his best putting up all of his resources and prepared the programme.  When the day arrived his presentation was not part of the programme and was ignored.  He was very much upset and dejected.  Sharing this to me he said that he will never do anything for that person again.

We all might have undergone such moments in our life.  And it is very painful when we put all our effort, energy, time and talent and when we see that it was not recognized and accepted we become discouraged and the immediate decision that we take is ‘I will not do it’.  When I experienced the same moment of desperation I too took the same decision that ‘I will not do it’.  But then I remembered a text message which I received few days before, which I deleted, run like this ‘DO IT ANYWAY’.  Now I wanted to know about that quote, ‘DO IT ANYWAY’.  And found out that it was Mother Teresa who said it.  And that passage made a very big impact on me.  And I decided to ‘DO IT ANYWAY’.  I hope you also want to know about it.  Here is it.  No matters whether you are understood accepted or recognized or not, just ‘DO IT ANYWAY’.

People are often unreasonable, illogical,
And self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you
Of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
False friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank;
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis
it is between you and God
It was never between you and them anyway.

LET ME LIVE IN YOUR THOUGHT

HIDE AND SEEK

MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU

Doll for sister, White Rose for Mother....

Hello, as I found this touching story coming round in my e-mail, I thought of sharing it with you.
You might have read this article earlier. Nevertheless, Spend some time to read this! decide how you can help to spread the message.

I was walking around in a Big Bazar store making shopping,
when I saw a Cashier talking to a boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6
years old.

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.
Then the little boy turned to me and asked: ''Uncle, are you sure I don't have enough money?''
I counted his cash and replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money
to buy the doll, my dear...'' The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.
'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much. I wanted to Gift her for her BIRTHDAY. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to
my sister when she goes there.'

His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God.
Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.

'' My heart nearly stopped.. The little boy looked up at me and said:
'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet.. I need her to wait until I come
back from the mall.'

Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing.
He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so my sister
won't forget me.' 'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me,
but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister. '
Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy.
'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?'' 'OK' he said, I hope I do have enough.'
I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it.
There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money! '
Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to
sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll,
so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!'' 'I also wanted
to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask
God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.

My mommy loves white roses.'
I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started...
I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.. Then I remembered a local news
paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who
hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right
away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether
to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would
not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away.. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch
of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young
woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the
photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.
I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.

The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still,
to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk
driver had taken all this away from him.

PLEASE DO NOT DRINK & DRIVE.

Now you have 2 choices:
Forward this message & spread awareness
OR
Ignore it as if it never touched your heart.

JESUS LOVES YOU TODAY

What sin and satan disfigured in you the Lord transfigures and He does it becuse
HE LOVES YOU TODAY
HE LOVES YOU NOW and
REJOICE

I REFUSE....

I refuse to be discouraged,
To be sad, or to cry;
I refuse to be downhearted,
and here's the reason why:

I have a God who's mighty,
Who's sovereign and supreme;
I have a God who loves me,
and I am on His team.

He is all-wise and powerful.
God is His name;
Though everything is changeable,
My God remains the same.

My God knows all that's happening;
Beginning to the end;
His presence is my comfort;
He is my dearest Friend.

When sickness comes to weaken me,
To bring my head down low,
I call upon my mighty God;
Into His arms I go.

When circumstances threaten
to rob me of my peace;
He draws me close unto His breast,
Where all my striving cease.

When my heart melts within me,
and weakness takes control;
He gathers me into His arms,
He soothes my heart and soul.

The great "I AM" is with me.
My life is in His hand;
The "Son of the Lord" is my hope,
It's in His strength I stand.

I refuse to be defeated,
My eyes are on my God;
He has promised to be with me,
as through this life I trod.

I'm looking past all my circumstances,
To Heaven's throne above;
My prayers have reached the heart of God
I'm resting in His love.

I give God thanks in everything.
My eyes are on His face;
The battle's His, the victory mine;
He'll help me win the race.

TWO DOTS

. .
A B
You ca make as many diagrams as possible with these two dots. A mouth and a Heart as well. But the reality is only a straight is possible. All others are extrasadded to it. God speaks the truth and only the truth about you. What you speak about yourself is represented by the heart, and what others speak of you is represented by the lips or mouth. These are not the real things, but they do have some extra curves and lines. So ask God to help you coincide with His Straight line in speaking about yourself and others.
